PS Plus experiencing a significant surge this month, offering a highly-rated platformer comparable to Astro Bot for free.

Psychonauts 2, the highly-anticipated sequel to one of the best platformers of all time, is set to join Stardew Valley and Viewfinder as part of Sony's free games for September on PS Plus.

The quirky art style of Psychonauts 2, developed by Double Fine Productions, holds up brilliantly without needing an official remaster. Razputin "Raz" Aquato, the playable character, navigates through the Psychonauts' base - The Motherlobe - and the minds of some of its inhabitants in this 3D platformer, which is comparable to Astro Bot and Super Mario Odyssey in terms of invention and immersion.

Stardew Valley, considered one of the greatest indie games ever released, offers a charming farming simulation experience. Players can cultivate their own farm, build relationships with villagers, and explore the mysteries of the valley.

In addition to Psychonauts 2 and Stardew Valley, Lies of P, a Soulslike game headlining the current lineup, and Viewfinder, another intriguing title, will also be available for download from September 2nd. These games will remain in your game library until the end of play on 1st September 2025.

It's worth noting that the quality of the monthly PS Plus releases has been inconsistent over the past few months. However, with the addition of Psychonauts 2, Stardew Valley, and Viewfinder, September's lineup promises to be an exciting one for PS Plus members.

So, mark your calendars for September 2nd, as you can start playing Psychonauts 2 for free on your PS5 and PS4. Don't miss out on this opportunity to immerse yourself in these fantastic games.
