Protests Occurring in Münster with a Note of Uncertainty

Münster, Germany - The civil society has announced loud protests against the right-wing extremist scene, specifically the small party "Die Heimat" and the "Freundeskreis Siegfried Borchardt", on Saturday, September 13, 2025. The alliance "No Space for Nazis" will gather at Münster's main station at 13:00.

The police, with their monopoly on force, will be present to maintain order. Participants are expected to follow the law and instructions from the police to prevent any escalation. Concealing one's identity during demonstrations is not allowed, as per the "masking ban".

The proposed procession route could not be approved due to concerns from the Münster Fire Department about blocked essential rescue routes and access to hospitals. The applicant can now proceed with an expedited procedure at the Münster Administrative Court for a review of the decision.

The final route for the upcoming assembly will be determined after judicial clarification. Counter-protests are also expected this coming Saturday. The police appeal for participants to demonstrate peacefully, support them in ensuring a peaceful event, and follow the instructions of the deployed colleagues.

Disruptive blockades and violence are not covered by the right to assembly. The police are obligated to intervene and will do so consistently if such actions occur. Weapons or dangerous objects may not be carried at assemblies. Uniforms or uniform parts may not be worn at assemblies either.

The Münster police have set up a citizen information line, (0251) 275-1112, from Wednesday to Saturday, providing current information about the demonstration and resulting restrictions. The quickest and easiest way to get around Münster's city center on Saturday is by bike or on foot.

The police are legally obligated to be neutral and ensure and protect peaceful assemblies, regardless of the content of the opinion. A right-wing extremist has given another assembly notification to the Münster Police. The police measures are taken by the police in accordance with the law and within the framework of proportionality to prevent further criminal offenses and prevent escalation.
