Protective Angel at the Rock Climbing Workshop for Pforzheimer
Last Friday, July 6, 2018, the Pforzheim Guardian Angel Project marked its 10th anniversary with a unique climbing workshop. Led by Ralf from the "Jochen Steinert Naturkonzepte" team, the event took place at the Pforzheim Forest Climbing Garden.
The workshop, initiated and accompanied by Police Chief Commissioner Yvonne Schwarz-Tron and Police Commissioner Jochen Merkle, who are both currently involved in the Guardian Angel Project, aimed to address current traffic safety issues in innovative ways.
The participants, fifteen young individuals from the Pforzheim Guardian Angel Project, were equipped with helmets and headlamps before embarking on the challenging climb. As part of the workshop, they were confronted with traffic safety issues in an unusual way, including exercises on topics such as speed, seat belts, and distraction.
One of the most memorable experiences was climbing an eight-meter-high wall while wearing drug/alcohol goggles, designed to simulate the impaired vision that can result from substance abuse.
Throughout the workshop, the participants were equipped with arguments and possibilities to advocate for traffic safety and civil courage in their personal spheres of influence. However, further information about the outcome or results of the workshop was not provided.
The Pforzheim Guardian Angel Project is a successful prevention project that celebrates its 10th anniversary on July 20, 2018. Despite the search results not providing information on who led the project for the past decade, it is clear that the project has made a significant impact in promoting traffic safety and civil courage among young people in Pforzheim.
