Proteas' Alternative Batsman Achieves Second Successive ODI Century, Bolstering Case for Recall

Rubin Hermann, the promising South African cricketer, has been making waves in the ongoing series with his impressive performances. In the opening match of the series against South Africa A, Hermann's score of 158 accounted for an astounding 68.4% of the team's total runs.

This score, which is Hermann's highest total in List A cricket, earned him the Player of the Match award in the third game against Zimbabwe, where he scored 63 off 36 balls. Notably, this was his second consecutive century for South Africa A in the ongoing series.

Hermann's debut for the senior South African team came earlier this year against Zimbabwe. His formidable performance in the ongoing series, however, has not yet earned him a place in the squad for South Africa's recent white-ball series in Australia or their upcoming series against England.

In the match against New Zealand A on September 1, Hermann scored a century, reaching his 50 off 42 balls. His younger brother, Jordan Hermann, was also a significant contributor, finishing the match unbeaten on 101. Together, the brothers put on a match-winning partnership.

Tshepo Moreki, another South Africa A player, took four wickets in the same match against New Zealand A, contributing to their victory. The New Zealand A team was bowled out for 248 in that match.

Despite not being picked for the recent and upcoming white-ball series, Rubin Hermann's consistent performances in the ongoing series may warrant a recall to the national team. However, the identity of the last player to represent South Africa before Hermann's current performance streak remains unknown.
