Proposals put forth by Green list for Nordstadt development

In the heart of North City, a series of intriguing proposals have been tabled by the Green List city council fraction. These initiatives, aimed at enhancing urban cleanliness, promoting safety, and fostering community engagement, have sparked excitement among residents.

Firstly, the Green List has identified an uncontrolled growth of the pigeon population in North City as a concern. To address this, they have suggested the installation of a pigeon house in North City, with a group of young, enthusiastic individuals from the Hartz-Cafe community ready to take care of the facility. This initiative, if approved, is expected to improve hygiene and urban cleanliness, as well as reduce the pigeon population.

The Green List is also applying for a trash can in front of the North City School to maintain cleanliness and ensure a safe and healthy environment for students.

In addition to these, the Green List city council fraction has proposed three city council applications for projects in North City. These include a shelter in Klingel Park, which would provide a safe haven for community members during bad weather, and another shelter on the grounds of the North City School. The Green List believes these shelters would greatly benefit the community, particularly during inclement weather.

To finance these projects, the Green List suggests "discreet advertising" as a potential source of funding.

The proposals don't stop there. Recognising the need for increased safety and encouragement of non-motorized traffic, the Green List has proposed a 30 km/h speed limit on Hohenzollernstraße throughout the day. This speed limit, they believe, would increase safety for all road users, including children and seniors, and potentially reduce the number of accidents and their severity. The travel time increase due to this speed limit would be minimal, with a maximum delay of no more than 2 minutes.

The previous trial of a 30 km/h speed limit in the evening hours showed positive results, suggesting that this measure could indeed be effective in promoting safety and reducing traffic-related incidents.

These proposals, if implemented, are expected to greatly improve the quality of life in North City, making it a cleaner, safer, and more community-oriented place for all its residents.
