Proposal from the Committee
The city of Detmold will play host to an exciting panel discussion on Sunday, July 27, 2023, as part of the European Youth Campus. This international youth project, which runs from July 23 to July 28, aims to foster political participation, European cooperation, and future prospects among young people from various European countries.
The panel discussion, taking place at 9:30 AM in the large meeting hall of Detmold Town Hall, will feature representatives from politics, administration, and civil society. Notable panel members include Dr. Thorsten Hasche from Duisburg, Dr. Miriam Mikus, chamberlain of our city portal, and Arne Brand, chairman of the Lippische Society for Politics and Contemporary History.
Young participants from France, Spain, Greece, Poland, North Macedonia, Slovakia, and Cyprus will also be present, ready to share their ideas, wishes, and demands. The focus of the discussion is on direct, eye-level dialogue, with the panel aiming to explore ways to make youth participation more effective, both locally in Detmold and at the European level.
Admission to the panel discussion is free, and no registration is required. The event is open to anyone interested in dialogue with the younger generation and supporting the future of Europe. The discussion will be held in English, ensuring a broad and inclusive audience.
The European Youth Campus is hosting the event as part of its project week, a time dedicated to engaging young people in discussions about the political landscape and their role in shaping it. This panel discussion promises to be a valuable opportunity for all those involved, offering a unique platform for dialogue and the exchange of ideas.
So, if you're interested in learning more about the perspectives of young Europeans and how to foster their participation in political decision-making processes, mark your calendars for Sunday, July 27, 2023, and join the GiveEUvoice panel discussion at Detmold Town Hall. Let's work together to ensure a brighter future for Europe.
