The Krefeld Penguins put up a valiant fight, but ultimately fell short against the Cologne Sharks in a thrilling match that ended with a score of 3:2.

The Penguins started the game on a high note, with Jon Matsumoto scoring the first goal just a minute into the match, assisted by Alex Weiß. Maximilian Hops followed suit in the 13th minute, scoring the second goal for the Penguins, assisted by Roope Mäkitalo.

However, the Sharks responded swiftly. Nate Schnarr scored the first goal for the Sharks, 15 seconds after the Penguins' second goal, assisted by Dominik Bokk. Ryan MacInnis then scored less than two minutes later, tying the game at 2:2.

The Sharks continued their momentum, scoring two more goals in quick succession to take the lead. Gregor MacLeod netted the winning goal for the Sharks in a power play, assisted by Valtteri Kemiläinen and Patrick Russell.

Despite the Penguins' brave resistance and a final offensive with an extra attacker, the Sharks held onto their lead until the final whistle.

The Penguins will now play for third place against the loser of the Iserlohn Roosters vs. Düsseldorf EG game. The face-off for this match is scheduled for 1:30 PM. The Sharks, on the other hand, have secured a spot in the third-place playoff.

This exciting game was a rematch of the tournament's first game, which saw the Penguins and the Sharks go head-to-head. The Penguins will be looking to bounce back and secure third place, while the Sharks will be aiming to continue their winning streak.
