Hünfeld marks the 25th commemoration of the iconic Hessentag 2000. Following the festival season over the Pentecost weekend and attendance of thousands, the Gaalbernfest serves as the second significant event, extending its duration to Sunday, September 1.

Proposal for a directive on safeguarding workers from ionizing radiation risks called for by the Commission

The Gaalbernfest, originally rooted in the wine village of Hessentag, is set to mark its 25th anniversary with a four-day extravaganza from Thursday, August 28, to Monday, September 1.

The festivities will kick off on Thursday evening at 7 PM, with the Greater Umstadt Wine Queen Lea I and her princesses gracing the opening ceremony. Music will be provided by "Eine Band namens Wanda," setting the tone for an entertaining weekend ahead.

Friday night will see Vorsicht Gebläse bringing funk and pop to the Gaalbernfest stage at 8 PM. On the same day, the Hünfeld Motor Club, in partnership with ADAC, will present old and young timers in the city center from 10 AM.

Saturday will be packed with activities, starting with the Wernesgrüner musicians from Hünfeld's partner town Steinberg playing for the early breakfast on Sunday, August 31, at 11 AM. "Tonica from Mackenzell" will provide musical entertainment at 7 PM, followed by the party rock band Back Home, who will perform after the Hünfelder Hessentag song.

Mayor Benjamin Tschesnok has invited some special guests to the Gaalbernfest jubilee, including the Groß-Umstädter Wine Queen Lea I with her princesses, State Secretary Michael Ruhl from the Hessian Ministry of the Environment, and Michael Brand, parliamentary state secretary and local Bundestag member. Michael Ruhl will also be present at the opening of the Gaalbernfest.

The Anger will transform into a large children's land on Sunday, August 31, offering numerous attractions. The Rossbach children's fire brigade will perform a spectacular show at 3 PM, while Tobi will entertain the youngest visitors with a magic show at the same time.

Winemakers and caterers will provide a variety of culinary delights at the Gaalbernfest, with stands open from 5 PM on Thursday to Saturday. The Amtsbock beer will be tapped in the city center at the Amtsbock on Monday, September 1, at 6 PM, with a story about the Amtsbock in Platt told by First Mayor Martina Sauerbier.

The Dammersbacher brass band will play marching music in the Stifts district on Monday, September 1, and the Lichtbergkrainer will provide street music. The "Mayor's Band & Friends" with mayors from the region will perform on Sunday, August 31, at 5 PM.

Tobias Wiedelbach, the manager of the Schlitzer distillery from Michelsrombach, will present the Hünfelder Aha-Whisky at the Gaalbernfest. The Gaalbernfest is sure to be a memorable celebration, extending the usual three days to four in honour of its 25th anniversary.
