Proposal by the Commission
The city of Detmold is set to host an exciting event as part of the European Youth Campus project, titled "GiveEUvoice", from 23 to 28 July. This international youth project will bring together young people from seven European countries: France, Spain, Greece, Poland, North Macedonia, Slovakia, and Cyprus.
On the 27th of July, at 9:30 AM, the public is invited to a panel discussion in the large meeting hall of Detmold Town Hall. This discussion aims to focus on effective youth participation in Detmold and across Europe. Dr. Miriam Mikus, the chamberlain of our city portal, will be among the panelists, as will Dr. Thorsten Hasche from the city of Duisburg and Arne Brand, chairman of the Lippische Society for Politics and Contemporary History.
The panel discussion will be conducted in English and will include young people and invited guests in a direct, eye-level dialogue. The focus of the discussion will be on the ideas and experiences of the young participants. The topics discussed will not be limited to those of the younger generation, but will also encompass political participation, European cooperation, and future prospects.
This event is open to anyone interested in dialogue with the younger generation and committed to Europe's future. Admission is free, and no registration is required. The public is encouraged to attend and engage in this valuable discussion about the role of youth in shaping our society and the continent's future.
It's a unique opportunity for the youth of Detmold to present their ideas, wishes, and demands directly to representatives from politics, administration, and civil society. The event is part of the "GiveEUvoice" project, which seeks to empower young voices and foster a more inclusive and participatory European Union.
Whether you're a young person with ideas to share or an individual interested in hearing from the next generation, this panel discussion promises to be an enlightening and engaging event. Join us at Detmold Town Hall on the 27th of July and let's work together to shape a brighter future for Europe.
