September 7 Incident at Technical Town Hall: Property Damage Following Transformer Collision, Motor Vehicles Targeted with Stone Throws, Power Outage Ensued

Property Damage at Technical Town Hall: Incident on 7th September includes a collision with a transformer resulting in a power outage, followed by instances of stone-throwing at moving vehicles.

In a series of unfortunate events, several incidents of damage and crime have been reported across Leipzig and its surrounding areas over the past few days.

On September 5, a traffic accident in Leipzig's West Center left a pedestrian (47) seriously injured after a collision with an Audi A3 at the Rudolphstraße intersection. The vehicle sustained property damage of 5,000 euros. Elsewhere in the city, at Schoenefeld-Abtnaundorf's B6 / Adenauerallee, unknown individuals threw stones at passing cars and the roadway, damaging two passenger cars.

On the same day, an arson incident was reported in Borna's Fabrikstraße, where an abandoned factory building was set on fire in two unknown ways. The police's specialist commission is currently investigating the case.

On September 6, a fire broke out in an apartment of a multi-family building for unknown reasons. The apartment is currently uninhabitable due to the damage. In a separate incident, unknown individuals extensively defaced the Technical Town Hall and damaged its glass facade in Leipzig's Reudnitz-Thonberg, Prager Street. The name of the individual or individuals responsible for the vandalism has not been disclosed.

A significant traffic accident occurred in Leipzig's Schoenefeld-Abtnaundorf, B6 / Adenauerallee, where a VW Passat was involved. The driver, a 53-year-old individual, was injured in the accident. After fleeing a traffic control, investigators found narcotics and cash in an Audi A8 in Torgau, Forstweg. The driver of the Audi, a 43-year-old individual, and another occupant (21) were apprehended after they fled the car. A drug wipe test on the 43-year-old tested positive for cannabis and amphetamines.

In Krostitz (Zschölkau), Waldstraße, a fire in a warehouse caused an estimated damage of approximately 100,000 euros. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

On September 7, an explosion of fireworks occurred in a multi-family building in Wurzen, Straße des Friedens, causing property damage of approximately 4,000 euros.

On September 8, a motorcyclist was injured in a collision with an Opel Corsa in Leipzig's Stötteritz, Holzhäuser Street. The occupants of the targeted vehicles were not injured, but the total property damage is approximately 2,000 euros.

The traffic accident investigation unit has begun investigating the cause of the accident in Schoenefeld-Abtnaundorf, while the police are investigating unknown perpetrators for the damage caused by graffiti and glass facade destruction at the Technical Town Hall.

As these incidents demonstrate, the authorities are working diligently to investigate and bring those responsible to justice. It is essential for everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
