Program Duration: Felsch Establishes Individual Performance Criteria (100 days)

In early February, Alexander Felsch, the mayoral candidate for CDU and FDP in Bergisch Gladbach, presented a 100-day program with 17 measures aimed at improving the city. Here's a breakdown of the key initiatives.

Felsch's program focuses on several key areas: education, streets and the S11, security and cleanliness, and citizen services. To address the immediate needs in education, a separate budget of 200,000 euros for each secondary school and 100,000 euros for each primary school has been allocated for urgent repairs or purchases. The program also includes an immediate school program, which alone would cost almost 3.5 million euros.

To ensure reliability in child daycare, Felsch plans to establish a substitute pool in addition to the existing DRK emergency group. He also wants to increase the number of street cleaning positions by creating 16 additional positions. Over 50 locations in parks and along forest paths will have dog waste bag dispensers and trash cans installed to promote cleanliness.

In terms of infrastructure, Felsch believes that many of the 100-day measures can be implemented without additional costs by shifting existing financial resources and the capacities of the administration. The Laurentiusstraße, which needs renewal, is one such project. Felsch also plans to review the priority list for road construction and prioritize projects that can be completed quickly.

To strengthen security in the city center, Felsch wants to prevent the office of the police and public order office from moving to the Stadthaus on Bensberger Straße. He also plans to form a new task force to improve cleanliness around glass and clothing recycling bins.

One of Felsch's more unique promises is the restoration of the "Waffle Iron Fountain". He also plans to begin coalition negotiations on financial issues and budget negotiations for 2026 immediately after taking office. Felsch also intends to conduct an analysis of personnel requirements in the administration for need-based staffing.

Felsch is aware that visions and programs don't always count in the local election campaign. Instead, he focuses on measures that solve concrete problems of the citizens. He plans to make concrete what can be moved and put important things on paper in such a way that as many as possible can be ticked off later. Felsch also believes that many of the 100-day measures can be implemented without additional costs by using "sprints" common in every company.

A kindergarten summit is planned for November to further discuss and refine these initiatives. Felsch wants to put himself to the test to see if he keeps his promises with the 100-day program. He is committed to making a positive impact on Bergisch Gladbach and ensuring a brighter future for its citizens.
