Probe Launched Against 33-Year-Old Accused of Rape
In the heart of Braunschweig, Germany, the local police department is currently conducting an investigation into a series of alleged rape cases. The probe, being carried out in conjunction with the Braunschweig Public Prosecutor's Office, has been ongoing since September 2021 and is believed to extend up until April 2023.
The suspect in question is a 33-year-old man, and three potential victims are yet to be identified. The first potential victim is an approximately 18-25 year old, slim woman who spent the night at the suspect's residence on September 24, 2021. Two of the incidents are believed to have occurred at the suspect's residence in the Gartenstadt district. The third incident is believed to have occurred in the early morning or late morning hours of April 9, 2023.
The suspect is suspected of having sexual contact with women while they were asleep, presumably due to alcohol consumption. It is suspected that there may have been a brief acquaintance between the suspect and the potential victims prior to the incidents.
The areas where the meetings may have taken place include bars, clubs, and pubs in the Wallstraße / Friedrich-Wilhelm-Straße area of Braunschweig. The police in Braunschweig are also seeking an unknown woman with a slim build, about 18-25 years old, blond hair, who has a script tattoo under her left knee. No specific name or additional details about her identity have been disclosed in available sources.
Anyone with information about the incidents or the identity of the unknown women is asked to contact the Criminal Duty Office at telephone number 0531/476-2516. The third witness is an approximately 18-25 year old, slim woman with blonde hair and a distinctive tattoo of a script under her left knee.
In addition to the potential victims, the police department is also seeking three witnesses. The second witness is an approximately 20-30 year old woman with black hair who spent the night at the suspect's residence on November 26, 2022. The third witness could potentially be a victim, as the location of the third incident is suspected to be the apartment of a potential victim.
The investigation is a serious matter, and the Braunschweig Police Department urges anyone with relevant information to come forward to aid in the resolution of this case.
