Survey reveals: Hesse's administration receives high marks for key priorities - Priorities of the Hessian administration receive strong marks
In a recent survey, the Hesse state government has shown strong approval ratings across various political groups. The state's Deputy Minister-President, Kaweh Mansoori (SPD), has a rating of 42%, making him one of the most popular politicians in Hesse.
The survey, which did not specify the exact date of its conduct, also revealed that Boris Rhein (CDU) has the highest approval rating among Hessian politicians, with 66% of CDU voters expressing satisfaction. SPD voters are relatively satisfied too, with 51% approving of their party's leader.
The state government's measures on several key issues have received high approval ratings. The deportation of criminals, ankle monitors for "wife beaters", free master's training, and the controversial registration obligation for dangerously mentally ill persons have approval ratings of 73%, 72%, 66%, and 64% respectively.
The survey attributed the comparatively positive performance of the state government to better cooperation between coalition partners, fewer points of contention, and clear political priorities. Even Greens voters in Hesse are satisfied, with 62% approving of the state government.
However, the survey found that only 22% of Hessians are satisfied with the black-red federal government under Chancellor Friedrich Merz. FDP voters in Hesse also approve, with 54% satisfaction, but the survey did not specify the approval rating for the federal government under Chancellor Merz.
The state election in Hesse took place nearly two years ago, but the positive sentiment towards the state government remains. The survey found that currently, 42% of Hessians are satisfied with the work of the black-red state government.
Rhein's ideas for federal politics, including consistent deportation of criminals, reducing unemployment benefits, and tightening sanctions against job refusers, have broad support with 70%, 64%, and 64% approval respectively.
Among SPD voters, the approval rating for Hesse's Deputy Minister-President, Kaweh Mansoori (SPD), is 24%. This is significantly lower than Rhein's approval rating among CDU voters, but still indicates a level of support for Mansoori within his party.
The survey results provide a snapshot of the current political landscape in Hesse, highlighting the state government's strong performance and the challenges faced by the federal government under Chancellor Merz.
