In the peaceful town of Vignale, a sense of shock and sorrow has been cast upon the community following the sudden passing of their beloved parish priest, Don Ezio Piazza.

Don Ezio Piazza, aged 71, was found unresponsive in the oratory on Monday, with indications suggesting a heart attack as the cause of his death. Upon entering the building, those present found him in bed. Efforts were made to contact him via phone and the bell, but to no avail. The intervention of the 118 personnel was unsuccessful.

Don Ezio Piazza, who had served as the parish priest of Vignale for many years, was due to begin the patronal festivities for the Madonna Regina della Pace. Tragically, these celebrations will now be held in his memory.

Prior to his service in Vignale, Don Ezio Piazza had served as parish priest in Boca and Gurro. He was ordained in June 1995 at the Novara Cathedral, and would have celebrated 30 years of priesthood on Sunday, September 21.

On the day of his death, Don Ezio Piazza had scheduled a meeting with catechists to prepare for the resumption of activities following the summer break. This meeting, unfortunately, will not take place.

The funeral arrangements are currently awaiting the medical examiner's clearance, expected on Tuesday morning. In the meantime, the parish church has announced a rosary recital to be held on Wednesday evening at 8:30 PM, offering the community a chance to gather, grieve, and pay their respects.

As the town of Vignale prepares to bid farewell to their cherished Don Ezio Piazza, the search for information regarding the burial or disposition of his body remains ongoing. The community, however, remains united in their sorrow and remembrance of a man who dedicated his life to their spiritual wellbeing.
