Pricey New Electric Peugeot e-5008 Hits Market for £48,550; Hybrid and PHEV 5008 Models Also Available

New Peugeot e-5008: Electric Seven-Seat SUV Offers Up to 410 Miles of Range

Peugeot has expanded its electric vehicle lineup with the introduction of the new Peugeot e-5008, a seven-seat electric SUV that promises a range of up to 410 miles.

The e-5008 joins its smaller sibling, the e-3008, as part of Peugeot's new long-range electric models, both of which are under the Stellantis group. The long-range versions of the e-3008 and e-5008 promise a range of over 400 miles.

The new Peugeot 5008 is effectively a stretched version of its predecessor, offering the same seven-seat configuration as its predecessor. The new model, along with its Hybrid and PHEV siblings, went on sale in the UK a couple of months ago.

The electric e-5008 starts at £48,550, while the Hybrid and PHEV models start at £37,360 and £43,350, respectively. The PHEV version of the Peugeot 5008 gets a cheaper entry-level option.

The e-5008 is powered by a single 210bhp electric motor, capable of 0-62mph in 9.7 seconds. A Long Range model of the E-5008 with a 98kWh battery will be available in the future, promising an even greater range.

The new Peugeot 5008 also offers trim updates, with the addition of Active Premium+ and Allure Premium+. The Allure versions include ambient lighting, wireless smartphone charging, Keyless, HD reversing camera, rear parking sensors, LED headlights, and 19′′ alloys.

The GT versions offer Alcantara with contrast stitching, 20′′ alloys (for EV and PHEV), Pixel LED headlights, 3D LED tail lights, heated front seats and steering wheel, and Adaptive Cruise.

Orders for the new Peugeot 5008 and E-5008 are now being taken. The 5008 Hybrid has a 134bhp hybrid system with a 1.2-litre PureTech petrol and a 21bhp electric motor, powered by a 0.9kWh battery for short EV running periods. The 5008 PHEV has a 1.6-litre petrol engine and electric motor, producing a combined 192bhp, with a 21kWh battery offering an EV range of 48 miles.

The Peugeot e-3008 long-range model will be available in the future. With its impressive range and competitive pricing, the new Peugeot e-5008 is set to make a significant impact in the electric SUV market.
