In a significant address during the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the world people's victory over fascism in Beijing, China, President Luong Cuong spoke to the Vietnamese Embassy staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community in China.

President Cuong reaffirmed that developing ties with China is a top priority for Vietnam, in line with the nation's fundamental and long-term interests. He highlighted this during his talks with Chinese leaders, particularly with Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping.

The top leaders of the two Parties and countries have agreed on the need to promote unity and cooperation, strengthen and deepen the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, and advance the Vietnam-China community with a shared future. The talks between Cuong and Xi Jinping focused on strengthening political trust between the two sides, expanding cooperation across sectors, addressing obstacles, maximising common ground, and managing differences.

Approximately 100,000 Vietnamese, including about 23,000 students, are currently living and studying in various cities and provinces in China. President Cuong praised the solidarity and determination of the Vietnamese community in China for their active contribution to strengthening friendship between Vietnam and China. He commended the community for remaining united, abiding by local law, maintaining strong ties to their homeland, and supporting the policies of the Party and State.

President Cuong also highlighted the need to continue promoting cultural diplomacy, people-to-people exchanges, and consular affairs. He emphasized the importance of effectively carrying out economic diplomacy, focusing on serving the people and businesses, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the Vietnamese community in China.

President Cuong urged the Embassy to prioritize building and consolidating political trust, ensure Vietnam-China relations develop steadily, sustainably, and substantively, and closely monitor developments in China. He extended his sincere regards and best wishes to all Vietnamese living, studying, and working in China.

The Ambassador of the Vietnamese embassy in China, Pham Thanh Binh, reported these developments. Cuong also briefed the participants on the outcomes of his meetings with Chinese leaders, particularly with Xi Jinping.

President Cuong's commendations for the staff of Vietnam's Embassy and representative offices in China were well-deserved, as they have shown great efforts in overcoming difficulties to successfully fulfil their tasks. Their hard work is a testament to the strong bonds between Vietnam and China, and to the resilience and determination of the Vietnamese community in China.
