Preparing to Assault the Israeli Embassy?

In a significant development, the Federal Prosecutor's Office has filed charges against a 18-year-old Russian citizen, who was arrested at Berlin Brandenburg Airport in February. The suspect is accused of planning an attack on the Israeli embassy in Berlin and attempting to join the terrorist organization Islamic State (IS).

According to the prosecution, the suspect had been planning the attack since early February 2025, specifically targeting the Israeli embassy in Berlin. However, his plan failed due to his inability to obtain the necessary components.

Shortly before his departure, the suspect sent a video with an oath of allegiance to IS to a suspected IS member abroad. He also provided instructions for committing a serious act of violence endangering the state. The suspect is also alleged to have attempted to join a foreign terrorist organization and provided support to IS as a juvenile.

To finance his trip to Pakistan, the suspect sold two mobile phones he had acquired for expensive smartphones. The suspect is further accused of translating propaganda material for IS into Russian and Chechen. No information is provided about the fate of the planned explosive device.

The suspect has been in custody since his arrest. He was brought to Karlsruhe for a hearing in early June, where a judge of the Federal Court of Justice issued a new warrant for his arrest. The State Protection Senate of the Berlin Regional Court will decide whether to allow the indictment. If the indictment is allowed, the trial dates will be set by the State Protection Senate of the Berlin Regional Court.

The suspect allegedly obtained instructions for making explosives online. He was caught on February 20th as he was on his way to boarding. The suspect supporter of the terrorist group Islamic State announced his allegiance to the Islamic State before his departure.

The investigation into the case was initially conducted by Brandenburg's Regional Court, but was later taken over by the Federal Prosecutor's Office. The details of the case highlight the ongoing threat of terrorism and the vigilance required to protect the nation's security.
