Aston Martin Super Cygnet Up for Sale: A Rare Piece of Automotive History

For the first time, the unique Aston Martin Super Cygnet is up for sale. Originally crafted in 2018 by Aston Martin's Q division, this one-of-a-kind vehicle is now available to a lucky buyer, with the price on application.

The Aston Martin Super Cygnet is a transformed version of the original Cygnet, which was not well-received by commentators and buyers due to its performance. However, the Super Cygnet is a different story. It boasts a strengthened Cygnet body shell, a racing roll cage, and a widened track to accommodate the Vantage's suspension and ABS systems. Under the hood, it houses a powerful 4.7-litre V8 engine, built around an Aston Martin V8 engine, capable of accelerating from 0-60mph in an impressive 4.2 seconds and reaching a projected top speed of 170mph.

The interior of the Super Cygnet is as striking as its performance. It features bespoke black Alcantara and carbon fibre, Recaro racing bucket seats, and a 7-speed 'Sport Shift' paddle-shift gearbox. Darren Turner, a renowned racing driver, tested the Super Cygnet on a track, driving it to a top speed of 155mph.

The Super Cygnet was a gamble for Aston Martin to lower the average CO2 output of their fleet. The 2011 Aston Martin Cygnet was based on the Toyota IQ, with an equipped 97bhp, 1.33-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine from Toyota. Despite the modest engine, only 300 Cygnet models were produced, with projected sales volumes in the thousands.

The Super Cygnet, however, has only covered 2,900 miles since new. Its value has since undergone a reappraisal, and its values are on the rise. This rare piece of automotive history offers a unique opportunity for a collector to own a piece of Aston Martin's daring past.

This Super Cygnet is not just a car; it's a testament to Aston Martin's ingenuity and their willingness to push boundaries. It's a chance to own a piece of motoring history that combines the elegance of Aston Martin with the raw power of a V8 engine. If you're a collector, an enthusiast, or simply someone who appreciates the unusual, this Aston Martin Super Cygnet could be the perfect addition to your collection.
