Powerball jackpot soars to $37 million ahead of next drawing
The Powerball jackpot has climbed to $37 million, drawing players from across the US. Many are buying tickets in hopes of winning the next big prize, with the next drawing set for Wednesday or Saturday evening.
Powerball is played in 45 states, as well as Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. Tickets cost $2 each and can be purchased at retail locations in most areas. However, a few states—including Michigan, Illinois, and Pennsylvania—allow players to buy them online.
To enter, participants choose five numbers from 1 to 69 for the white balls and one number from 1 to 26 for the red Powerball. Some players use a random number generator to pick their selections. Drawings take place twice a week, at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The last major Powerball win occurred on December 24, 2025, in Arkansas. Since then, no state has updated or expanded its rules for online ticket sales.
The jackpot will keep growing until someone matches all the numbers. Players continue to buy tickets, hoping for a life-changing win. The next drawing offers another chance at the $37 million prize.
