In the wake of Inka Bause's tour, it appears that the realm of politics maintains an unaltered presence within the music sector.

"Post-Inka Bause's tour: The political landscape of the music industry remains untouched"

Inka Bause, the popular German singer, has announced the cancellation of her grand anniversary tour, scheduled to begin in October, due to insufficient ticket sales. The tour was planned to celebrate Bause's long career and included performances in cities such as Halle, Potsdam, Frankfurt (Oder), Rostock, Erfurt, Magdeburg, Cottbus, Chemnitz, Dresden, and Leipzig.

However, Bause's political statements may have played a role in the tour's poor ticket sales. In a video posted on her Instagram account at the beginning of the year, Bause called on people to vote and warned against the AfD. Not all of Bause's followers agreed with this video, with one follower criticising politics having no place in the music industry.

Despite the criticism, Bause defends her political statements, receiving praise in comments. One comment reads: "No money or fame is worth losing your humanity. Even if your statements cost the concerts, at least you can sleep with a clear conscience. You've done everything right." Another comment praises Bause: "I don't like Schlager, sorry, but I like you and your statements all the more, huge respect, dear Inka."

Bause values engaging with people and potentially convincing blue voters at her concerts. In an interview in the spring, Bause advised her industry colleagues to take stronger political positions. However, some of Bause's statements may have cost her a few ticket sales, according to her own explanation.

Interestingly, pre-sales in Berlin for Bause's concert have gone better than the rest of the country. The concert at the Berlin Admiralspalast on November 7th is also unaffected, while Bause's concert at the KΓΆnig-Albert-Theater in Saxon Bad Elster will still take place independently on November 1st.

Despite the tour cancellation, Bause has not made any publicly available details indicating that her political statements before the 2021 Bundestag election led to reduced concert ticket sales in East Germany. Bause stated that the situation is unique worldwide and especially in Eastern Germany, where she is touring.
