Position Vacant: Fischer's Post Up for Grabs

In a move aimed at addressing the needs of people with disabilities, Ute Leidig (Greens), the State Social Minister, has promised a prompt replacement for Simone Fischer as Commissioner of the State Government for the Concerns of People with Disabilities.

The timely replacement, announced by Minister Leidig, is none other than Nora Welsch. Known for her previous collaboration in the State Disability Advisory Council, Welsch is an advocate for an inclusive and barrier-free society, having lived with disabilities herself.

The appointment of Welsch comes as a response to the concerns raised by Nikolai Reith (FDP), who had inquired about a timely replacement for the commissioner. Reith also pointed out that Simone Fischer, the former commissioner, is still listed as the contact person on the homepage of the Ministry of Social Affairs.

In a bid to rectify this issue, Minister Leidig has promised to update Fischer's contact information on the Ministry's homepage.

The task of promoting equal living conditions and advising the state government is of utmost importance, as stated by Minister Leidig. This role is crucial in ensuring the rights and needs of people with disabilities are adequately represented and addressed.

It is worth noting that Simone Fischer has won a direct mandate in the federal election, and her departure from the state commissioner role was expected to take place before the end of the legislative period.

The change in leadership promises a fresh perspective and renewed commitment to the cause of people with disabilities in Stuttgart. The new commissioner, Nora Welsch, is poised to make a significant impact in her new role, as she continues to advocate for an inclusive and barrier-free society.
