Pop-up Exhibition and Storybook Celebration at Lower Rhine Open Air Museum

The Lower Rhine Open-Air Museum in Grefrath is set to host a captivating exhibition titled "Moving Paper Worlds - On the Trail of Pop-up Books". This enchanting event runs until September 7, promising a fascinating exploration into the historical development of pop-up books, interactive elements, and engaging performances.

Visitors can immerse themselves in the art of pop-up books, witnessing a live production demonstration that brings these intricate creations to life. The exhibition also features a reading corner, where one can lose oneself in the pages of these magical books, and a crafting area, where young and old can create their own pop-up masterpieces.

The event is filled with exciting performances and activities. Patrick Mirage, a renowned magician, will captivate audiences with his magic show on the main stage at the Pfannekuchenhaus in the afternoon. For those seeking a more theatrical experience, "Little Red Riding Hood" will be performed as a shadow theater in the Rasseln farmstead, while "The Star Money" will be shown in the Hagen farmstead by the theater Blaues Haus.

On September 13, the open-air stage in the Niederrhein Open-Air Museum will be the venue for the play "Engelchen und Teufelchen", performed by the troupe "Theater Tabourette". Storyteller Sabine Schulz will also be present in the Waldniel farmstead, sharing fairy tales with visitors.

The Lower Rhine Open-Air Museum offers a picturesque setting for a picnic during the event. The entrance fee is six euros for adults and three euros for children aged 6 to 17. For seniors, a theater reading of "Struwwelpeter" on September 11 can be enjoyed for a separate ticket purchase at the museum.
