A traffic accident occurred on Federal Motorway 8 near Leonberg on August 30, 2025, at around 4:15 AM. The incident involved a 20-year-old driver of a box van who had briefly fallen asleep and lost control of the vehicle.

The vehicle, a Sprinter van, veered off the road and tipped over onto its left side. The driver remained unharmed in the incident but was unable to leave the vehicle independently. Firefighters and emergency services were quick to respond and successfully rescued the driver, providing medical assistance as needed.

The estimated material damage caused by the accident is approximately 5,000 euros. The accident scene caused a temporary closure of the Leonberg-Ost exit until approximately 7:00 AM for follow-up measures.
