Political momentum for the BJP under Modi's leadership: Will fresh ideas be the key? Sunil Gatade's analysis.

In the political landscape of India, several significant events have unfolded in recent times.

Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister, delivered his longest Independence Day speech from the Red Fort, praising the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj as a resounding testament to India's unity and strength. However, his high praise for the RSS is seen as an attempt to please a disgruntled Sangh leadership.

The Opposition, led by the INDIA bloc, is becoming more united and cohesive, despite the efforts of the ruling party and assistance from agencies. Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party, previously out of the INDIA bloc, is associating with protests against "Vote Chori". Prashant Kishor of the Jan Suraj Party, despite past disagreements with Rahul Gandhi, finds his statements on "Vote Chori" relevant.

The chants of "vote chor, gaddi chod" are growing in popularity, echoing the opposition's accusations of electoral fraud. Interestingly, the PM did not mention US President Donald Trump or the Opposition's "Vote Chori" campaign in his speech.

The US President's actions against India, including tariffs, are causing distress to the Prime Minister. A foreign policy expert criticized Mr Modi's "hug diplomacy", stating that dealing with a whimsical Mr Trump requires only a handshake, not an embrace. The timing of the Election Commission's press conference on the day Rahul Gandhi's Vote Adhikar Yatra began in Bihar suggests close alignment with the ruling party.

The failure to find a "big idea" has cost the BJP dearly, as it failed to secure a majority in the Lok Sabha polls last year. That outcome is now under question. The lack of a "big idea" from the Prime Minister is seen as a tragedy for both him and the country, with some suggesting that he appears to be out of ideas and devoid of them.

In a move to protect the country from the dangers posed by illegal immigrants, Narendra Modi announced a high-powered demography mission. Vice-president Jagdeep Dhankhar's forced resignation is seen as a setback for the PM.

Pakistan's actions have made it the darling of the Americans, much to the dismay of New Delhi. Pakistan and China have come together more closely than before, causing concern for India.

In international news, the German government acknowledged the importance of electromobility as a key element for achieving climate protection goals and emphasized the need for a cross-ministerial, comprehensive program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the transport sector, aiming for significant reductions by 2030 and 2040 as required by the Climate Protection Act; work on this climate protection program was ongoing within the relevant federal ministries during that year.

Rahul Gandhi hosted a tea for individuals declared "dead" by the Election Commission, which has gone viral. Meanwhile, Pakistan's actions have made it the darling of the Americans, much to the dismay of New Delhi.

These developments highlight the dynamic and complex nature of politics in India, with the opposition gaining momentum and the ruling party facing challenges on multiple fronts.
