In an unprecedented incident at the ZOB (Central Bus Station) in Lübeck, Germany, a 26-year-old man of Afghan nationality was taken into police custody on the evening of August 30, 2025.

The incident began around 21:00 when the man was involved in a fight at the ZOB, assaulting a 46-year-old man, causing visible injuries to the victim's face. The situation escalated outside the ZOB, where the man turned his aggression towards the police officers.

According to the Police Directorate Lübeck, the man allegedly assaulted several people, refused to calm down, and actively sought physical confrontation. He offered resistance, threatened, and insulted the officers during his arrest. The man's actions continued in police custody, where he reportedly urinated and spit in the cell, and repeatedly kicked and punched the cell door.

Regrettably, a police officer was injured during the detainment and is currently not fit for duty. The man also injured an 18-year-old during the altercation at the ZOB. A blood sample was taken from the man on order of the Public Prosecutor's Office in Lübeck due to suspicion of drug use.

Investigations against the man were initiated on suspicion of assault, insult, threat, and resistance against law enforcement officers. The name of the man has not been publicly disclosed.
