Police Vocational School: Training Services Welcomes Fresh Students in Hagen (Police Academy)
The Bochum Police have announced the start of a new school year for the Police Fachoberschule (FOS) in Bochum. As of August 25, 2025, 58 students, including 19 females and 39 males aged between 14 and 30, have officially joined the programme.
This year marks the fourth year of the innovative "FOS" program, which provides a new path into the police force for young people with a medium-level education. The programme is a result of a collaborative effort between the Hagen Police and various vocational schools in Bochum and Halver, as well as police departments in Bochum, Märkischer Kreis, Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis, Olpe, and Siegen.
The Hagen Police are responsible for the training coordination of the "FOS" program, and the students will begin their studies at two of the 19 participating vocational schools. The interdepartmental cooperation ensures that students receive practical content related to the daily work of the various cooperating authorities.
Upon graduation, students will have full university entrance qualifications and a guaranteed place at the University of Applied Sciences for Police and Public Administration NRW. Additionally, those who graduate from the "FOS" program will be prepared for a career in the NRW police force.
For further inquiries, the Hagen Police Press Office can be contacted via phone, email, website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and WhatsApp channel. The Hagen Police are committed to providing transparency and open communication to the public.
The "FOS" program has seen a significant number of applications this year, with a total of 551 young people successfully securing a place in the FOS class of 2025. Some of the students are returning to school after years in the workforce, eager to embark on a new career path in the police force.
The Police Fachoberschule in Bochum looks forward to another successful year of educating the next generation of police officers. With the collaborative efforts of the various institutions, the school is well-equipped to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career in the police force.
