Police Vocational School: Training Services Welcomes Fresh Students in Hagen, Germany

The Police Upper Secondary School (FOS) in Hagen has commenced its new academic year, welcoming 58 students who are set to embark on a journey towards a career in the North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) police force. This year marks the fourth year of the FOS program, which offers a new pathway into the police force for young people with an intermediate school leaving certificate.

The FOS program primarily cooperates with the NRW police authorities as part of the "Next Level" program. This collaboration involves several vocational school locations across NRW, including schools in Bochum and Halver, as well as police departments in Bochum, Märkischer Kreis, Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis, Olpe, and Siegen. The Hagen Police takes responsibility for the training of these students.

The Hagen Police has received applications from 3645 individuals for the FOS class of 2025. From this pool, 551 young people were selected to begin their studies at two of the 19 vocational schools. These students, aged between 14 and 30, consist of 19 females and 39 males.

The Hagen Police wishes all "FOS'lers" success in their team 110. Some students are continuing their education after completing the 10th grade, while others are returning after years in the workforce. These students were officially welcomed at the start of the new school year at South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences in Hagen on August 25, 2025.

Throughout their studies, the students will gain practical knowledge and skills in the daily operations of the various cooperating authorities. Upon graduation, they will receive a full university entrance qualification and a guaranteed place at the University of Applied Sciences for Police and Public Administration NRW.
