Police Statement Issued on August 25: Brake Case
In the early hours of August 31, a disturbing incident unfolded at a festival tent during the Oldenburg Horse Market. A 32-year-old man from Brake was accused of using pepper spray, resulting in 18 people being slightly injured.
The incident occurred around 00:20, causing a brief disruption at the popular event. The festival tent was able to resume operation after approximately 30 minutes of ventilation. Some of the injured individuals received medical treatment on the scene.
Witnesses at the scene were able to identify the suspect, who was found to be intoxicated and had pepper spray in his possession. The suspect was subsequently arrested and an investigation for dangerous bodily harm was initiated by the police.
The Oldenburg Public Prosecutor's Office has ordered a blood sample to be taken from the suspect. Witnesses and/or further injured parties are asked to contact the police in Brake at 04401/935-115.
