Police Report on Speed Control Operations from August 5 to 10 Conducted by Reutlingen Headquarters Across Reutlingen, Esslingen, Tübingen, and Zollnalb Districts

A Europe-wide speed control week, which took place between August 4, 2025, and the last Sunday, has resulted in over 6000 speeding offenses being recorded by the Police Headquarters Reutlingen and authorities in the districts of Reutlingen, Esslingen, Tübingen, and Zollernalb.

The intensive monitoring of speed controls on accident-prone routes was a collaborative effort between the traffic police, police stations, districts, and municipalities within the Police Headquarters Reutlingen's area of responsibility. Most of the detected speed violations were recorded by light barrier measuring devices and police/municipality measuring trailers.

According to the director of the Reutlingen Police Headquarters, Police Chief Hans Müller, a 21-year-old driver of an Alfa Romeo was measured at 147 km/h on the B10 at Wernau, where the speed limit is 80 km/h. This is just one example of the numerous speeding offenses that were detected during the week.

Of the over 6000 offenses recorded, approximately 360 drivers were measured with laser hand measuring devices and immediately confronted with the speeding offense. The majority of the offenses were within the warning range, but around 960 drivers can expect a fine and points in Flensburg.

The speeder faces a two-month driving ban and a substantial fine of around 600 euros. The Europe-wide speed control week aims to increase awareness of the dangers of speeding and sustainably reduce the speed level.
