In the city of Flensburg, a 31-year-old driver was apprehended by the local police on August 25 following a chase and an attempted escape. The incident, which involved a white VW Passat, has been under investigation since then.

According to the Flensburg Police Directorate, the driver was reported for suspicious driving at 12:52, with witnesses describing erratic behaviour, such as braking abruptly and squeezing out other drivers. The Directorate confirmed that several patrol cars were deployed in response to these reports.

As the Passat was being pursued, it collided with a patrol car near Tarp. In an attempt to evade the officers, the driver fled the scene on foot. However, they were later apprehended by the police.

Upon arrest, a blood sample was taken from the driver to determine their level of intoxication. The vehicle and driver's license were also seized.

The criminal investigation, initiated by the Flensburg Police Directorate, includes charges for suspected traffic endangerment, coercion, and hit-and-run. It was also revealed that the driver had previously committed several traffic violations in the area of the Rader High Bridge.
