Police operation results in suspect's apprehension and confiscation of the vehicle
In the heart of Dortmund, Germany, on September 2nd at around 16:30 hours, a dramatic incident unfolded near Brackeler Straße.
The chase commenced after the driver of a silver BMW disregarded a general traffic control. The high-speed pursuit ended on a factory site in Eberhardstraße, where the BMW collided with a police car.
Despite the collision, thankfully, no one was injured during the incident. The driver, a 52-year-old man from Breckerfeld, was apprehended by the civil police forces on a nearby wasteland after he attempted to flee both in his car and on foot.
Upon his arrest, the man was taken to the police station North for questioning. A series of tests, including blood, drug, and urine samples, were conducted at the station. The results of these tests were positive.
The abandoned BMW was found on the factory site, and the vehicle has since been secured as evidence. It is believed that the BMW had already damaged a parked vehicle at another location prior to the chase.
Investigations regarding the incident are ongoing. The Dortmund Police have provided a point of contact for further inquiries. You can reach out to Luca Bluethgen at 0231/132-1039, [email protected], or visit their website at https://dortmund.polizei.nrw/.
