The Rhein-Erft Circle Police are currently investigating a break-in that occurred at a kiosk in Bergheim-Niederaußem on the night of Sunday, July 6th. The incident took place around 3:45 am, when three unknown individuals allegedly used a crowbar to shatter the glass of the kiosk on Dormagener Straße.
According to initial findings, tobacco products were stolen during the break-in. Witnesses are being sought for the investigation, and anyone with relevant information is urged to come forward.
Two individuals were observed entering the interior of the kiosk and then leaving with a sack. The suspects allegedly loaded the sack into a car and drove off via the federal road (B) 477 in the direction of Bergheim. The car used by the suspects has not been identified.
One of the suspects is approximately 180 cm tall and was wearing a light-colored top and dark pants. However, no further details about the suspects' appearances were provided in the new report. It is also worth noting that the suspects were masked during the crime.
The Criminal Investigation Department 21 is handling the investigation. Officers secured traces at the scene of the crime and drew up a criminal complaint. Called-out police officers immediately initiated a search for the fugitives, but the suspects' whereabouts remain unknown.
