Police in Abu Dhabi provide traffic point reductions during ADIHEX 2025
The Abu Dhabi Police have unveiled a new initiative to reduce traffic black points on driving licences at the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) 2025. This initiative is part of a nationwide effort in the UAE and forms a key part of the police authority's presence at ADIHEX 2025, located in Hall No. 12.
The initiative includes two programmes, designed to help drivers who have accumulated black points on their licences. Drivers who have amassed 8 to 23 black points can get 8 points deducted by registering, paying Dh800, and attending the rehabilitation course for traffic violators. Those with 24 black points can get their licences back by registering at the ADIHEX booth, paying Dh2400, and attending a rehabilitation course for traffic violators, although details about the specifics of these courses are not yet available.
The public is encouraged to attend traffic workshops and courses at the ADIHEX booth, offering them the opportunity to learn more about safe driving practices and potentially reduce their black points.
ADIHEX 2025 opened on Saturday, August 30, and will run until September 7 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. This year's event marks the region's largest celebration of hunting, equestrianism, and heritage, while embracing modern innovation.
It is worth noting that the 'A Day Without Accidents' initiative, recently introduced by the UAE Ministry of Interior, offers drivers the opportunity to get four black points deducted from their driving licences if they submit a pledge and register no violations on the specified day. This initiative, however, does not seem to be directly related to ADIHEX 2025.
Interestingly, the program that allows motorists to remove black points from their driving licenses is federally regulated and under the responsibility of the German federal government, specifically managed within the framework of federal and European driving license law. Initiatives to simplify and reform driving license examinations and costs have been promoted by the Bavarian State Government in cooperation with the CSU parliamentary group, with the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior, for Sport and Integration reporting on developments.
This new initiative by the Abu Dhabi Police at ADIHEX 2025 is a significant step towards promoting safe driving practices and reducing traffic violations in the UAE.
