In a series of events across Southwest Germany, several incidents have been reported, involving the fire department, police, and rescue services.

Fire in Balingen

In Balingen, a fire broke out in a single-family home on Geschwister-Scholl-Straße. The fire department, with 15 vehicles and 84 personnel, managed to contain the fire enough to enter the building with breathing apparatus. The rescue service was also on the scene. The estimated damage from the house fire is around €200,000.

In a related development, a body was found inside the house, believed to be the 96-year-old resident who lived alone. The perpetrator arrested on Monday evening on the same street has not been publicly identified.

Garden Shed Fires

In Reichenbach/Fils and an unspecified location, garden shed fires occurred on Tuesday evening and Tuesday morning respectively. The fire in Reichenbach/Fils resulted in property damage estimated at around €15,000. In the unspecified location, no injuries were reported, and the Esslingen police station has taken over the investigation into the cause of the fire. A police helicopter was on site to support operations in the unspecified location.

Traffic Accidents

In Reutlingen, a hit-and-run traffic accident is under investigation by the police station. The accident occurred on Tuesday morning on the Burkhardt+Weber-Straße towards Sondelfingen, involving an unknown driver of a Smart car and a 36-year-old E-scooter rider. The E-scooter rider sustained minor injuries.

In a separate incident in Reutlingen, the hit-and-run accident took place at the junction towards the Sondelfinger Straße, causing minor injuries to the E-scooter rider.

In Tübingen, a traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Herrenberger Straße and Belthlestraße involving a car and a cyclist. The cyclist was thrown to the ground and sustained minor injuries.

In Muensingen, a suspected drunk driver of a Sprinter van fled the scene of an accident on Tuesday morning, causing approximately €2,000 worth of damage to a BMW. The suspected drunk driver was reached by phone and summoned to the police station, where a preliminary blood alcohol content test showed over 0.4%.

Other Incidents

In Hochdorf, a 59-year-old cyclist sustained injuries of unknown severity after falling on Tuesday afternoon on a path between the Straße Am Muhlweg in Reichenbach and Ziegelhof.

In Hechingen, a 42-year-old inline skater suffered severe injuries after falling in a skate park in Badstraße.

These incidents serve as a reminder for road users to exercise caution and for homeowners to be vigilant about fire safety.
