In the eastern part of Leipzig, there are raised beds. - Police discover 751 marijuana plants near a school.

In a lush area near a high school and a playground, the municipal office found 751 cannabis plants thriving on two publically accessible raised beds. This was revealed by the police on Tuesday.

The illegal crop was spotted by city workers on Monday morning at the White Square in the Leipzig district of Stötteritz (Saxony). After they informed the police, officers quickly removed 368 larger and 383 smaller plants from the soil. The plants' destruction was ordered, and an inquiry was launched into unlicensed cultivation of narcotics.

Initial investigations suggest the plants were set up there recently. The City of Leipzig's Green Space Office had not yet placed the two raised beds this year.

Approximately 18 kilograms of cannabis could have been harvested from the 751 plants. This would have fetched around 125,000 euros on the market. With this amount, almost 800 joints could have been made ...
