Peaceful Christopher Street Day Celebrated in Erfurt
The city of Erfurt hosted the annual Christopher Street Day (CSD) on Sunday, with approximately 2,500 participants taking part in the festivities. The CSD, a celebration of LGBTQ+ rights and diversity, commenced at 14:00 from the Domplatz and continued through the city centre until 19:00.
The gatherings were accompanied by a police operation, supported by forces from the Thuringian riot police, to ensure a peaceful and trouble-free course. The police's previous assessment of the gatherings as peaceful and trouble-free remains unchanged.
Significant traffic disruptions were reported during the event, affecting Willy-Brandt-Platz, Bahnhofstraße, Anger, and Juri-Gagarin-Ring. Public transport passengers experienced delays due to the gatherings.
Only one administrative offense procedure was initiated for the unauthorized burning of pyrotechnics. No new information about any incidents or offenses is given.
