Police bust illegal poker game and gambling machines in Emmenbrücke pub raid

Police uncovered an illegal poker game and gambling machines during a raid on a pub in Emmenbrücke. The operation led to the confiscation of cash, phones, and other items linked to the unlicensed activity. The raid took place at a local pub where 21 people were present. Officers discovered an ongoing poker game alongside two unlicensed gambling machines. Both activities violated the Gambling Act, which prohibits unregulated betting operations.

Cash totalling around 79,000 Swiss francs and 2,575 euros was seized, along with several mobile phones and additional equipment. Authorities have since launched criminal proceedings against the premises’ manager and two other individuals suspected of organising the illegal gambling. Under Swiss law, operating or facilitating unlicensed gambling can result in severe penalties. Those found guilty may face up to five years in prison or substantial fines.

The investigation remains active, with charges now pending against three individuals. The confiscated funds and equipment will be held as evidence while proceedings continue. This case highlights the strict enforcement of gambling regulations in the region.
