Police apprehend red light violators in Erfurt

In an effort to enhance road safety, the Thuringian Police State Police Inspectorate Erfurt conducted targeted red light controls in the city of Erfurt on Tuesday.

During the operation, between 06:30 and 08:45, seven red light violations were recorded. Four of these were committed by cyclists, while the remaining three were by car drivers. Between 10:30 and 12:00, two additional red light violations were noted, both by cyclists.

In total, nine red light violations were documented and punished. Car drivers face at least 90 euros in fines for running a red light, while cyclists are fined 60 euros. Points are also added to the driving record for car drivers who run a red light.

The Thuringian Police State Police Inspectorate Erfurt, responsible for the Erfurt region, aims to continue intensifying red light surveillance to ensure the safety of all road users.
