PokerOK celebrates seven years with a $300K rake-free anniversary tournament
PokerOK is marking its seventh anniversary this month with a special rake-free tournament. The platform launched in early 2019 under the GG Network, which had earlier rescued Lotos Poker from bankruptcy. Over the years, it has introduced bold features and high-stakes games that were uncommon at the time.
The site first opened on February 13, 2019, originally styled in Latin script. GG Network took over after Lotos Poker collapsed in December 2018, reviving its player base under a new brand. PokerOK quickly stood out with innovations like action share buying, a cash-drop system, and All-in or Fold tables—features that were rare in online poker seven years ago.
High-stakes games began with invitation-only cash tables up to $100/$200 and Featured Tables at NL/PL20,000. Early sessions had limited action, 40 big blind stacks, and a 3% uncapped rake. The platform also added straddles and all-in insurance, which were uncommon outside mobile apps at the time. One of PokerOK's first ambassadors was Sergei Rybachenko, known as 'Gipsy'. He won back-to-back $1,000 evening tournaments, helping to establish the site's competitive reputation. The platform's visual design, combined with its 'Honeymoon' mission system for beginners, further set it apart from rivals.
To celebrate its seventh year, PokerOK is hosting a rake-free tournament with a $300,000 prize pool. The event highlights how the platform has evolved since its 2019 launch. While details on its highest buy-ins remain limited, its early innovations and ambassador-driven success continue to shape its identity.
