Poker Hall of Fame Inducts Jennifer Harman and John Juanda
The Poker Hall of Fame added two new names to its esteemed roster in November 2015. After a vote by the Hall's jury, Jennifer Harman and John Juanda were chosen to join the ranks of poker legends.
The induction ceremony for both standout players will take place at Binion's Casino, an iconic establishment in Las Vegas often referred to as the birthplace of poker. The casino will be hosting the event on November 6, a week before the final table of the WSOP Main Event that will be held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino from November 8 to 10.
Ty Stewart, chairman of the Poker Hall of Fame board, commended the new inductees, saying, "We congratulate Jennifer Harman and John Juanda on their well-deserved induction into the Poker Hall of Fame. Both are highly respected players who have significantly contributed to the growth and popularity of the game."
Jennifer Harman, a veteran professional player, expressed her gratitude after the announcement. "Being inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame is a tremendous honor. I want to thank everyone for their support. I am absolutely thrilled!"
Harman, age 50, has cemented her place in poker history with impressive tournament results, earning over $2.7 million and clinching two WPT final tables, 12 WSOP final tables, and 2 WSOP bracelets. Despite her success, she remains active in charitable causes and dedicates much of her time to her family.
John Juanda, born in Indonesia and now a U.S. resident, also brings an illustrious career to the Poker Hall of Fame. He made his poker debut in 1997 and has since demonstrated his prowess in high-stakes tournaments. To date, Juanda has amassed over $17 million in career earnings and has taken home five WSOP gold bracelets, making him one of the most successful poker players globally.
