Poker competition series in 2025: Third event initiates, focusing on seniors with a buy-in of $340 for the first 50 participants.
The 2025 Pure Poker Tour is set to commence its third series at Pure Casino Edmonton on July 17, with the Seniors 50+ event taking centre stage. This tournament, known as Event #1 of the third edition, carries a buy-in of $340.
The Seniors 50+ event will run from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with players starting with 25,000 chips for 30-minute levels. The blinds will also be adjusted every 30 minutes.
Alek Gillies will be reporting live from the event, capturing every moment on keyboard and camera. Meanwhile, Lyle Bateman will provide comprehensive coverage of the series as a whole.
The Seniors 50+ event promises to be a competitive one, with past winners and deep runners like Brett Worton, Brian Wells, Rob Lothian, Gerald Chung, and others expected to participate.
Interestingly, this event marks a new attempt for some players to capture their first Pure Poker Tour trophy. John Donnelly, who won the last PPT event at Pure Casino Yellowhead in May, will not be participating in this event as it is a new one.
The tournament allows for 8 levels of reentry, with the desk closing after the dinner break. Late registration and re-entry will close at the start of Level 9.
The Pure Poker Tour Series #3 will run from July 17 to July 27, 2025, at Pure Casino Edmonton. This event is just the beginning of an exciting two weeks of poker action.
At Pure Casino Edmonton, the Seniors 50+ event, part of the Pure Poker Tour Series #3, will feature casino-games like poker, with Alek Gillies reporting live from the event. Competing players in this competitive tournament stand a chance to win their first Pure Poker Tour trophy, as poker veterans like Brett Worton, Brian Wells, Rob Lothian, and Gerald Chung are expected to take part in casino-and-gambling activities.
