Playtech expands into Connecticut's booming online gambling market

Playtech has secured a licence to enter Connecticut's online gambling market. The move marks the company's sixth regulated launch in the US. It comes as the state's iGaming sector continues to grow rapidly.

Connecticut's iGaming market has seen strong growth in recent months. In January 2023, total wagers reached $1.77 billion—a 10% increase from the same period last year. Monthly gross gaming revenue also climbed by 19%, hitting $64.6 million.

Playtech will now offer its full casino games portfolio to players in the state. Jonathan Doubilet, general manager of Playtech USA, highlighted the company's enthusiasm for the expansion. The launch aligns with Connecticut's expanding and diversifying iGaming industry.

Playtech's entry into Connecticut follows five previous US market launches. The company joins a state where online gambling activity has risen steadily. No further details have been released about potential expansions into additional US states.
