Playmobil Introduces Fritz Reuter Figure from November 7th
In the heart of Stavenhagen, a literary landmark is set to welcome a new addition. Playmobil, the renowned toy manufacturer, is releasing a figure of Fritz Reuter, the celebrated German author, in 2025. This figure was conceived during the anniversary year of Reuter's birth, but it was not released last year.
The figure, priced at 7.99 euros (subject to change), will be available exclusively at the Reutermuseum, Reuter's birthplace and literature museum. This limited edition figure, with a number of copies yet to be disclosed, will be a cherished addition to any collection.
Fritz Reuter's works have left an indelible mark on German literature, and his influence can be traced in the early literary experiences of another literary giant, Thomas Mann. Mann often emphasised the profound impact Reuter's works had on his development as a writer.
Mann's mother used to read him Reuter's stories, and it is believed that these tales laid the foundation for Mann's later career. After the publication of "Thomas Mann and the Black Forest Marie," Playmobil is now paying homage to Fritz Reuter in 2025.
The figure is depicted with a quill and the book "Kein HuΜsing" in hand, a fitting tribute to Reuter's literary legacy. The figure will be released coinciding with Reuter's 215th birthday, on a date yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, the Fritz-Reuter Literature Prize will be awarded on November 7, another celebration of Reuter's enduring influence on German literature. The Playmobil figure of Fritz Reuter is coming to the museum in Stavenhagen, a fitting home for this tribute to a literary legend.
