Plant-based meat production company, LiveKindly Collective, anticipates profitability by fall, following a recent slowdown in production.
Livekindly Collective Expands Its Plant-Based Empire
In the past year, Livekindly Collective has made significant strides in the plant-based industry, acquiring three notable brands: The Fry Family Food Co., Redefine Meat, and Plantible Foods. This strategic move is part of the company's plan to disproportionately accelerate growth and profitability, under the leadership of its CEO, David Suarez, who has been at the helm for a year.
The acquisition of The Fry Family Food Co. has proven to be a shrewd move, as Fry's is the clear number-one brand in Australia and New Zealand. Livekindly Collective is now poised to become profitable this fall, a testament to Suarez's bold strategy.
Suarez believes the opportunity lies in reframing the narrative of ultra-processed food (UPF) plant-based products. He emphasises the positive impact these foods can deliver to people and the planet. The company's Research and Development team is working tirelessly to deliver tastier and healthier formulations every day.
One of the brands under Livekindly Collective's wing, Like, is returning to the UK market after a three-year absence. The brand aims to target young, health-minded flexitarians with high-protein, high-fibre, and low-fat formulations. However, Like's products will face scrutiny from consumers looking for cleaner labels, with one of its offerings containing over 30 ingredients.
In the face of this challenge, Suarez remains confident. He doesn't believe the industry got it wrong, stating that for an industry to thrive, it requires meeting consumer expectations and working a scalable model that delivers profit.
The Like brand's products will also be making a comeback in the second-largest market for vegan food in Europe, the UK, a key target for the brand. The company is also looking for opportunities to collaborate with other successful companies to conquer more eating occasions and accelerate growth.
Livekindly Collective's B2B solutions division has expanded rapidly, achieving growth of 48% in 2024 and projected to increase by 120% in 2025. The division delivered high single-digit year-on-year growth in the first half of 2025. The company's 'Color Up Your Taste' collaboration with Berlin artist Josephine is one of the brand-building initiatives Livekindly Collective is investing in.
Meanwhile, the Oumph brand is strengthening its position in the Nordics. Livekindly Collectly's acquisitions and strategic moves are positioning the company as a formidable force in the plant-based industry, with plans to acquire additional plant-based brands to further fuel its growth.
