Plans for the upcoming season at the Tomsk Youth Theatre, including new performances, fresh actors, and Bezrukov's involvement
The Tomsk Young People's Theatre (TYZ) is gearing up for an exciting season, with a host of new productions, premieres, and collaborations on the horizon.
Firstly, the theatre is delighted to welcome a new actress, Sofya Kulishina, who has recently graduated from the Altai State Institute of Culture. Sofya will be joining the TYZ family and is expected to bring fresh talent and energy to the stage.
In August, TYZ will host the digital play "Love" by Ivan Orlov. The exact date is yet to be disclosed, but theatre-goers can expect a captivating performance from this acclaimed playwright.
Ivan Orlov, who has been making waves in the theatre world, recently gave an interview to our website, sharing insights into his upcoming projects. One such project is a colossal production called "ECHO BDF", which will take place at TYZ from February 3-8. The project will feature Sergei Bezrukov and is shaping up to be a major event in the Russian theatre scene.
Speaking of major premieres, a play by Ivan Orlov is set for the main stage on May 22-23. The title of the play is currently under wraps, adding to the intrigue and excitement.
Another highly anticipated production is "The Tale of Tsar Saltan" by Soyin Zhambalov. TYZ artists will perform this production at the Big Children's Festival in Moscow on October 27 and in St. Petersburg on October 29.
The Mariupol Republican Academic Russian Drama Theatre will also grace the TYZ stage on October 9-10, promising a night of top-notch theatre.
A festival dedicated to Alexander Griboedov will take place in Saratov from November 6-9, with TYZ presenting "Griboedov. A Bitter Joke" directed by Artem Ustinov.
In November, the musical play "The Golden Key" will have its premiere, based on Anna Morozova's adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland".
Meanwhile, rehearsals for the play "Demons of Dr. Poliakov" are underway, with Alexander Ogarev at the helm. The play is based on Maria Simonova's work and draws on Mikhail Bulgakov's "Morphine" and Silver Age poetry, promising a unique and thought-provoking production.
Furthermore, a new internal director's laboratory for the youth theatre will take place from February 3-8. This is an exciting opportunity for up-and-coming directors to hone their craft and contribute to the theatre's repertoire.
Lastly, the final festival of the new season will be the traditional "May Beetle", which will take place on May 1-3 and will be more large-scale and comprehensive than ever before.
