Planned Jump from Las Vegas Casino Tower Set for a 2021 Thrilling Debut
Get ready for an unforgettable New Year's Eve in Las Vegas! This year, the city is set to dazzle with a spectacular display of fireworks from multiple iconic hotels along the Strip, synchronised with music.
At midnight, key hotels such as ARIA, Caesars Palace, MGM Grand, Planet Hollywood, Resorts World, The STRAT, Treasure Island, The Venetian, and The Fontainebleau will light up the night sky with a breathtaking fireworks show. The Rio Hotel will serve as the command center for this grand spectacle, lasting approximately 8 minutes and featuring thousands of explosions choreographed to popular hits.
Downtown Las Vegas will also host its own festivities on Fremont Street. The Plaza Hotel & Casino will showcase a unique aerial drone show with 150 drones forming a countdown before fireworks launch from the rooftops. Fremont Street will also host the "Time of Your Life Festival," featuring up to 40 live bands across multiple genres, a Silent Disco, and a fireworks show on the Viva Vision canopy as midnight approaches.
Nightclub parties are a big part of the celebration. For example, Zouk Nightclub at Resorts World hosts a New Year's Eve party with DJ James Hype starting at 10 PM, offering an energetic live performance and champagne toasts at midnight. Hakkasan Nightclub presents an event with Steve Aoki for an upscale dance music experience. Other venues like Beer Park on the Strip offer all-inclusive packages with food, drinks, live DJs, and premium viewing areas for the fireworks.
This year, Ryan Smith will make history by taking the plunge off the Strat's SkyJump feature, which is 829 feet above ground. The Strat compares this jump to the New Year's Eve ball drop in New York City's Times Square. The Strat is located at the north end of the Las Vegas Strip, just inside city limits.
The Fremont Street Experience pedestrian mall will allow visitors aged 21 and older for a $25 security fee on New Year's Eve. The event is happening at the Strat Hotel, Casino & SkyPod tower in Las Vegas.
Interestingly, the winner of the Midnight Mirror Ball Sweepstakes for this year is Ryan Smith. Unfortunately, there is no publicly available information that this sweepstakes is part of this year's Las Vegas New Year's Eve events.
For those unable to attend the celebrations in person, a virtual New Year's Eve fireworks show will be available for viewing on the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority website, its Facebook page, and its YouTube channel.
The SkyJump at the Strat is the only similar jump in North America and the highest in the world. Participants in the SkyJump are strapped into a harness and attached to a cable connected to a descender machine.
Lastly, Circa Resort, an adults-only hotel-casino, has opened 512 of its 777 hotel rooms for the first time this week. It is the first resort built from the ground up in downtown Las Vegas in 40 years. Its gaming areas opened on October 28. The Plaza Hotel and Casino is located at the western end of Fremont Street where the now-demolished passenger train station once stood.
So, whether you're a thrill-seeker, a music lover, or just looking for a memorable New Year's Eve, Las Vegas has something for everyone!
In the heart of the entertainment capital, Las Vegas, renowned casinos such as ARIA, Caesars Palace, MGM Grand, Planet Hollywood, Resorts World, The STRAT, Treasure Island, The Venetian, and The Fontainebleau will offer thrilling casino-and-gambling experiences throughout the New Year's Eve festivities.
During the Time of Your Life Festival on Fremont Street, visitors can enjoy live music performances, including up to 40 live bands across multiple genres, making Las Vegas the ultimate entertainment destination for New Year's Eve.
