Pimloc's Secure Redact update strengthens police evidence transparency with AI governance

Pimloc has rolled out a major update to its Secure Redact platform, adding advanced Chain of Custody and Audit Trail features. The new tools automatically track every interaction with sensitive files, ensuring full transparency for law enforcement agencies. Police forces had requested stronger safeguards to meet UK disclosure rules and criminal procedure standards.

The expansion comes after feedback from police customers who needed more than just automated redaction. They required a reliable way to prove how files were handled at every stage. The updated system now logs each action with timestamps, user details, and unique file identifiers, creating a tamper-proof record.

All redaction workflows are now fully visible, with every step captured in a verifiable history. This allows organisations to demonstrate exactly when and how footage was processed. Logs can also be exported as secure PDFs, giving forces a clear, shareable record for legal proceedings. Simon Randall, CEO and Co-Founder of Pimloc, explained that the new features ensure every action in Secure Redact is tracked and reviewable. The enhancements align with rising demand for responsible AI governance in policing, reinforcing evidential integrity under UK law.

The updated platform provides police with stronger tools to maintain chain of custody and audit compliance. By automating detailed logging, it helps forces meet legal requirements while improving accountability. The changes reflect ongoing efforts to balance efficiency with rigorous evidential standards.
