Piaget's New Watch Celebrates Andy Warhol's Bold Artistic Legacy
Piaget has unveiled a unique timepiece honouring the legendary artist Andy Warhol. Created in partnership with the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, the watch blends fine craftsmanship with the pop artist’s iconic style. The design draws direct inspiration from Warhol’s self-portraits and his personal collection of watches. The watch is housed in the Piaget 15012, a model originally found among the 300 timepieces in Warhol’s estate after his death in 1987. Its 18k yellow-gold case features an engraved version of Warhol’s self-portrait on the reverse, adding a personal touch.
The dial showcases a striking tricolour stone collage, mirroring Warhol’s famous self-portrait. Yellow Namibian serpentine, pink opal, and green chrysoprase are set against a black onyx backdrop, creating a vivid contrast. The layered bezel adds architectural depth, while the geometric yet soft cushion shape ensures a comfortable fit on the wrist. Stephanie Sivière, Piaget’s artistic director, led a team that spent six months studying Warhol’s work to perfect the design. The result is a watch that embodies the sculptural spirit of 1970s timepieces without appearing outdated. Every detail reflects both Warhol’s bold aesthetic and Piaget’s precision craftsmanship.
This limited-edition piece celebrates Warhol’s enduring influence on art and design. The collaboration between Piaget and the Andy Warhol Foundation brings together horology and pop culture in a single, wearable masterpiece. Collectors and admirers of Warhol’s work will find a piece that honours his legacy in a uniquely elegant way.
