Pi Network's $314,159 Stablecoin Code Sparks Debate—But Is It Real?

A newly shared code snippet has sparked discussion within the Pi Network community. The StablecoinPegger script, written in Python, proposes a stablecoin pegged to $314,159—a figure referencing the mathematical constant π. However, the Pi Core Team has not confirmed any official plans for such a project.

The code demonstrates technical sophistication, using the ccxt library to connect with exchanges like Binance and Kraken. Yet, doubts remain about the feasibility of maintaining a stablecoin at such an unusually high value.

The StablecoinPegger class outlined in the code aims to stabilise the coin's value within a narrow 0.05% tolerance band. This would require significant liquidity and constant market demand to sustain the peg. Without institutional-level backing, experts question whether such a system could function reliably.
