Violent Attack in Märkisches Viertel: Suspect Arrested and Investigation Ongoing

A dangerous assault took place in the Märkisches Quarter this morning, leaving several people injured. The incident occurred around 8:30 AM at a kiosk on Wesendorfer Street.

According to the latest reports, a 33-year-old individual attacked a 64-year-old customer and a 72-year-old kiosk owner with a knuckleduster. The attacker sustained a severe hand injury during the incident, and the weapon was seized by the police.

The victims were taken to the hospital for treatment. The 64-year-old customer was treated for outpatient injuries, while the 72-year-old kiosk owner required inpatient care. A passerby who was assaulted by the suspect after the initial attack was also treated at a hospital for outpatient injuries to his head and arm.

The attacker then fled to a multi-family dwelling on Senftenberger Ring, where he damaged an elevator window. He also assaulted a 43-year-old passerby with manhole covers before police officers arrived and arrested him. The suspect was then taken to a hospital for inpatient treatment.

At this time, the investigation into the motive of the assault is ongoing. The police have not yet released any information about the identity of the perpetrator or his current place of arrest.
